REDpreneur on the RED Social Innovation Platform

REDpreneur was created by the Austrian Red Cross international cooperation department as a result of a yearlong dialogue with specialists to assess its opportunities in the impact investing field. The need for the program is based on demographic trends, structural and developmental changes as well as shifts in financing models of the public, non-profit and private sectors.

A newly established RED Social Innovation Platform by the French and Spanish Red Cross showcases selected innovations to social challenges developed in the 192 national Red Cross/Red Crescent societies.
|

End of Training Academy
During the online Training Academy participants develop fundamental skills and concepts in the field of impact enterprise. Joint focus on selected business cases through peer-to-peer learning allows participants to immerse in an applied training environment.
|
The Kick-Off of the Online Training Academy took place on the 25th of February 2021. 12 weeks later 40 participants have been working in 10 working groups on 10 Venture Ideas and will present their results in a 3 minutes pitch on the 19th of May. A Jury of three representatives from the target region will give Feedback on the pitches and work done so far.
|
Successful Training Academy graduates will have the possibility to apply for the following Master Class (starting in June 2021) for in-depth knowledge to get financial and business plans of selected business ideas ready for launching.

Nikolaus Hutter, Lead Trainer of the REDpreneur Program
|
Nikolaus Hutter is an entrepreneur and investment executive with 25+ years’ experience, focused on accelerating the shift to a purpose driven economy. He is founder and CEO of New Paradigm Ventures, an international advisory firm in the impact space. Since 2010, NPV has been working with partners including international NGOs such as WWF and Red Cross, impact investors and philanthropic funders, and purpose driven start-ups to prototype and scale regenerative and inclusive businesses.

Nikolaus serves on several boards including Heifer International and Heifer Foundation, a US-based global development NGO, the Hellenic Impact Investing Initiative, The People’s Trust in Athens, among others, and lectures at universities in Austria and Portugal.
|
Prior to NPV Nikolaus worked in cleantech industry, over a decade in venture capital investing, in strategy consulting and in pharma. He read business and economics in Vienna and Strasburg, and Political Economy at the London School of Economics.

About the REDpreneur program

The REDpreneur Program is a Business Skills and Enterprise Development Program supporting the development of impactful ventures for providing health and social services.

Main Target Region is East and South East Europe and South Caucasus. The program facilitated by the Austrian Red Cross is funded by the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADA) and carried out by New Paradigm Ventures and Impact Hub Vienna.
