The Training Academy welcomes two types of participants: Venture* Participants and Observers.

VENTURE PARTICIPANTS...

aim to apply business solutions to address one or more of the Five Global Challenges identified by the IFRC in Strategy 2030, while also pursuing financial sustainability.

Thematic Focus:

• Climate and Environmental Crises & Health Nexus
• Crises and Disasters: Preparedness and response
• Health: Access to health and care, safe water, or basic sanitation, including female hygiene
• Migration: Addressing migration and forced displacement
• Values, Power and Inclusion: Focusing on marginalised demographics, including the older, the youth, women, and people living with disabilities

Maturity of the Venture:

Venture participants may apply under one of three categories:

• Incubation: test or replicate a new project or business idea
• Acceleration: grow your existing idea or current business case
• Investment facilitation: explore the tools you need to make your existing business case funding ready

Individual Participation or with a Venture Team:

• As a Venture Participant you can apply individually or as a Venture Team, which includes both a Core Contact Person and extended Team Members. 
• As a Core Contact Person, you are the main point of contact of a Venture and responsible for developing key deliverables. 
• As an extended Team Member, you support the Core Contact Person.

To qualify for course completion and a certificate you must attend at least 50% of the sessions. The commitment fee of 150 EUR per person applies for each team member.
 
OBSERVERS... 
are individuals interested in developing their knowledge on business skills and enterprise development. 
As an Observer you are free to attend any session of the Training Academy, but you do not hand in deliverables. The full commitment fee of 150 EUR per person applies. Upon request we are glad to issue a confirmation of participation for the sessions you attended.

*) At REDpreneur, we use the term "venture" to describe impactful business ideas, business cases, income-generating activities, income streams and social enterprises.

The Training Academy consists in total of 10 content sessions called Lessons and 8 Town Halls.

Session Type 1: Lessons

The Lessons take place on Tuesdays*, last 2 hours and are divided into three categories: Inspiration, Business Plan, Financial Plan. These content sessions are dedicated to covering the curriculum material. 

Session Type 2: Town Hall

Town Halls take place on Thursdays and last 1 hour. These collective sessions are open for participants to ask questions to the trainers and are not mandatory.

Final Session: Culmination Event

The Culmination Event, held at the end of the Training Academy, allows participants to practice their pitch in front of an expert panel in order to get constructive feedback.

As a participant you are considered to have completed the Training Academy, if you have attended at least 50% of the Lessons.

Lessons

Welcome Session: Introduction to the REDpreneur Training Academy and curriculum overview.

Inspiration Track: Three sessions on purpose-driven businesses, exploring how NGOs like the Red Cross can integrate business approaches to achieve sustainable development goals. Includes guest speakers, case studies, and insights into social entrepreneurship within the RCRC Movement.

Business Track: Two sessions on business planning using the 10-Slide template. Participants will learn to create business plans covering key aspects like team, funding, and impact.

Finance Track: Two sessions introducing financial planning (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and hands-on application of financial concepts through real-world examples.

Pitch-Training Session: Session on delivering clear, impactful pitches tailored to key stakeholders.

Culmination Session: Participants present pitches to a panel of experts and celebrate their achievements.

Town Halls

8 Sessions: Weekly 1-hour collective sessions for Q&A and peer support.

After completing the Training Academy, participants can apply for the subsequent Master Class. An application with a Business Plan, a Financial Plan and a Pitch will be required. 10 Venture Teams will be selected to participate in the Master Class.
